Experience
Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research¶
Göttingen, Germany¶
Postdoctoral Researcher [September 2024 - present]
Doctoral Researcher [September 2020 - September 2024]
- Instrument Scientist on the PHI instrument on Solar Orbiter.
- Developed the on ground data reduction pipeline for the magnetograph instrument on the ESA/NASA Solar Orbiter spacecraft and produce magnetic field maps. In operation since 2021 with over a million raw frames processed into L2 data products.
- Cross-calibrated these magnetic field maps with those from a similar Earth-based magnetograph.
- Numerically simulated the solar surface to investigate different viewing angles and spatial resolutions on the inference of its magnetic field.
- Coordinated Solar Orbiter observation campaigns}, liaising with instrument teams and ESA to acquire high impact scientific data.
- Authored and co-authored 20+ scientific articles with 170+ citations.
ESA Academy¶
Redu, Belgium¶
Post-Alpbach Summer School [November 2022]
- Selected to contribute to the Trajectory Analysis Team
- Further developed a scientific space plasma physics mission to Venus to investigate its induced magnetosphere
FFG, ESA, ISSI¶
FFG (Austrian Research Promotion Agency)
ISSI (International Space Science Institute)
Alpbach, Austria¶
Alpbach Summer School [July 2022]
- Developed a scientific space mission concept to investigate Transient Luminous Effects and Terrestrial Gamma Ray Flashes
- Presented the scientific section at the final presentation ceremony
- Our team's concept won the prize for the 'Most Feasible Space Mission Concept'
